Background: Dr. Elena Pederson was born in Revuca, Slovakia. In 1968, following the Russian Invasion, Elena and her family escaped and immigrated to Canada in 1969. She grew up in Regina, Saskatchewan. Upon high school graduation in 1980, she went to University of Saskatchewan and obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Therapy in 1985. In 1987, she returned to school and this time she obtained her Chiropractic Doctorate at the Canadian Memorial College in Toronto, Canada in 1991. She graduated from Chiropractic College with highest academic and clinic honors, Summa Cum Laude.
Upon graduation in 1991, she moved to Vernon, B.C. and started her own practice where she rapidly experienced tremendous success. She sold her practice in 1994 and moved to U.S.A., so she would be able to broaden her scope of practice and techniques. She opened a practice in Mossyrock, WA in 1995 and built her new office building in 2006 where she is currently still practicing.
Education: Dr. Elena Pedersen attended University of Saskatchewan in Regina, Saskatchewan Canada where she attained a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy. While practicing physical therapy, Dr. Pedersen saw greater results with the body in proper alignment while rehabbing an injury which lead her in the pursue chiropractic college. Dr. Pedersen attended Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto, Canada where she attained her Doctoral Degree in Chiropractic.
Specialty/Focus: Dr. Pedersen’s techniques have evolved over the years. She specializes in Applied Kinesiology (AK), the use of muscle testing the body to help delineate the areas of need be it chemical, structure, or electromagnetic. Along with AK, Dr. Pedersen is well versed in nutritional supplementation and she believes not every problem is the same and that with proper nutrition body healing is enhanced alongside spinal manipulation. She is an expert in Manual spine and Extremity adjustments, Drop table adjustments, as well as the Activator adjustments. She also incorporates the use of low level laser therapy, which treats a variety of injuries by stimulating healing at a cellular level.
Personal: On a personal level, Dr. Pedersen is an avid skier and bicycle rider. She loves motorcycle riding, hiking, and traveling with her husband, Mike, and her dog Odie.
Heather Smetzler was born in Chehalis, Washington. After graduating from Mossyrock High School in 2000, she studied small business management and front office medical assistant at Centralia Community College. After graduating college in 2002, Heather moved to Anacortes, Wa where she joined Pacific Northwest Cardiology. In February 2006, she moved back to Mossyrock and joined the Chiropractic Health Center.
In her free time, Heather loves to spend time with family and friends, whether it be racing jeeps, trail jeeping, snowmobiling, camping, or hunting.
